Local distribution on roof tiles and siliceous rocks, often near or parasitic on Xanthoparmelia species. BLS conservation evaluation: LC NS

Sub-squamulous or squamulous grey-brown or dark brown thallus, prothallus absent. Apothecial discs black, margins thin becoming excluded. Asci 8-spored, spores 1-septate, olive-brown to dark brown, 10-17 x 6-8 Ám. Microscope photograph below.
