Acrocordia cavata Monoblastiaceae
Acrocordia cavata

Growth type crustose
Chemical results negative. Perithecial wall remains brown in K

The small perithecia are probably overlooked or mistaken for other species on basic-barked trees like Corylus, Fraxinus, Populus and Sambucus.

Thin greyish white thallus with small (0.3-0.6mm) perithecia that are half immersed. Spores 1-septate, 11-16.5 x 5.5-9.5 µm. Micrographs below.

Similar: A. gemmata has larger perithecia and spores, Anisomeridium biforme, perithecial wall green in K, different spores and ascus apex
