Lichenodiplis lecanorae Incertae sedis
Lichenodiplis lecanorae #

Widespread and common on the apothecia and occasionally thalli, of a number of different hosts but most frequently from Caloplaca and Lecanora species (now split into a number of other genera).

The small dark brown pycnidia are commensalistic to parasitic in the host apothecia (or more rarely in the thallus), occurring singly or in groups. Conidia are greenish brown or dark brown, 1-septate and 4-7.5 x 2-3 µm. Microscope photograph below.

Similar: Occurrences on other hosts probably belong to other (as yet undescribed) Lichenodiplis species.
