Chemical results: Apothecia and orange areas K+ red or purple

Can be common in old woodlands on shaded, smooth bark of young trees and branches

Thin, light grey or pale fawn thallus, often tinged orange. Apothecia with white or red pruina, becoming reddish-brown when old. Spores 3-5 septate, 20-28 x 7-10 µm, brown when old.

Similar: Arthonia elegans has smaller apothecia and spores
