Chemical results negative
Identification of specimen with dark apothecia is uncertain

Previously considered to be mainly coastal but also occurs inland on base-rich rocks and walls

Thick areolate thallus, yellowish-grey, non-pruinose with +/- eroded patches. Apothecia to 0.7mm, orange-brown pruinose discs, margins very pruinose, sometimes excluded. Spores 1-septate, 11-13(-16) x 4-7 µm. Microscope photograph below.
