Growth type crustose
Chemical results: K+/- yellow-brown, C-, KC+ yellow, P-, UV+ dull orange

Coastal and inland distibution on exposed nutrient-rich siliceous walls and rocks. Can be parasitic on Tephromela atra and Lecanora species.

Thick warted and cracked thallus, yellowish-grey to bright yellow-green with greenish-black prothallus. Immersed irregular apothecia become blackish with pale grey pruina.

Probably the fertile counterpart of Lecanora orosthea
