Parmeliaceae Melanelixia fuliginosa Growth type foliose Chemistry: Cortex K-. Medulla K+/- purple, C+red, KC+ red, P-, UV- Occurs on siliceous rocks, monuments and gravestones, rare on trees. Thallus with wrinkled dark greenish-brown to blackish lobes, the centre of the thallus +/- obscured by small, glossy isidia. Apothecia are occasional, the margins often becoming isidiate.
