Can be frequent on lower part of trunk of well-lit or slightly shaded, mature, rough-barked, deciduous trees. BLS conservation evaluation: LC L*

Smooth or warted pale bluish-grey thallus with broad, zoned, whitish prothallus and conspicuous pale bluish-grey or concolorous soralia, often becoming confluent.

Similar: Loxospora elatina is K+ yellow and occurs on damp, acid bark.
Ochrolechia androgyna. Yellowish soredia. C+ red, KC+ orange-red
